Shady Hollow Ducks

Ducks not available for 2007: At Shady Hollow we will be adding waterfowl to our list in the near future. We plan to offer a few different breeds and varieties.
One of our native species here- The North American Wood Duck (Carolina Duck) is one that will be added to this list. These beautiful birds are flighty, colorful
and very interesting. We hope to have wild type and silver mutations. We also plan to have the Wood Ducks' relative- the Mandarin Duck. The Mandarin is
another beautiful bird. This ornamental species originated from East Asia. Its large crest and fan-like wings make it exceptionally striking. Colors available will
be wild type and white mutation. Finally, one of our absolutely favorite birds- the Hooded Merganser. This elegant diving duck is not as common in captivity. Its
long bill is designed for catching small fish and other prey. The male has a spectacular hood that he raises on his head during breeding season. This small,
quick duck is sure to please any waterfowl fancier. Look forward to the new arrivals when they appear.
