| How are we able to do this? Why would we want to? By starting this program we can allow folks who can't afford to purchase a whole batch of chicks and have them shipped the opportunity to raise their own. This is the reason why only local families are eligible for the program- we cannot ship the chicks so you must be within driving distance. We give you a batch of chicks (10-20 chicks) and they are your flock. There is only one catch: when the batch is matured, we come and hand select 30% from the flock that will be taken back to our farm and used in the same program. We give you the whole flock for free and you get to do your part, too. By raising these birds and taking a select few back for breeding, we are ensuring the conservation of the breeds. What better way to help out than actually be a part of the conservation breeding program? There are no strings attached and no down-side to this program. Be sure to contact us before this program is running for the upcoming spring/summer season. Join in so others like you will have the same chance in the future.
